Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until smooth.
- Add eggs, one at a time, followed by vanilla extract, red food coloring, and buttermilk.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- If using white chocolate chips, gently fold them into the batter.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan.
- If desired, frost with cream cheese frosting for an extra indulgent touch.
Notes
Do not overbake; fudgy brownies should look set but still moist in the center. Let them cool completely before cutting to ensure clean edges. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to four days, or freeze for extended freshness.
