Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, and then mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Slowly add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in both the dark chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are firm but the centers look slightly undercooked.
  2. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

For optimal results, sift your dry ingredients to prevent clumping and consider chilling the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Avoid overbaking to maintain a chewy texture.
