Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the rolled oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt together.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  6. Grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Spread the mixture evenly in the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Let the bars cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Cut into squares and enjoy!
